High Resolution Manometry and Endoflip//
High-Resolution Manometry is essential for diagnosing gastroesophageal disorders by assessing esophageal motor function. Using multiple sensors along the esophagus, we can identify issues across different sections. Conditions like reflux and achalasia can impact function. The test a small 4.3mm probe placed in the esophagus, where you'll swallow several times while we monitor. Typically completed in under 10 minutes, we comfort, especially for younger patients, sometimes conducting the test in the Endoscopy Suite with relaxation medications
The Endoflip device can provide additional insights when manometry studies fall short in diagnosing esophageal disorders. Unlike the thin manometry catheter, Endoflip mimics solid food as it moves through the esophagus. It uses a balloon on a thin catheter placed during a sedated endoscopy measuring cross-sectional area and intraluminal under distension.
